This month we have the honor of highlighting someone who has been a key player in Melody of Hope’s (MOH) success from the start. Julie Telatnyk, who has volunteered her CPA services from the beginning, is a cherished asset and friend to our organization.
Julie and Charlie, Melody of Hope’s Founder and Executive Director, are from the same town and have known each other for quite a while. When Charlie started MOH, Julie was gracious enough to lend her support. Julie states, “I enjoy serving the community, and have found the best way to do that is to use my skill set to give back. There are so many good causes, and being involved with MOH allows me to simultaneously contribute to many organizations.” Her philanthropic work includes donated time and skills with Habitat for Humanity, but for now, Julie finds fulfillment in focusing 100% of her volunteer time with Melody of Hope.
Julie received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Management from the University of Texas. Among her 14 years of experience, Julie spent several years as a Senior Accountant before co-founding her own firm, Briggs & Telatnyk, where she has been an Accounting Consultant for the past five years. We asked Julie to share with us her favorite part about her work. She says, “I enjoy seeing the growth of the businesses I work with and how we’re able to strategize to lower tax liability.”
